Sossusvlei Mountain
Lodge is
located on
the northern end of the NamibRand Nature Reserve at the foothills of
the Nubib Mountains. This vast reserve is spanning over 200 000 hectares of
pristine Namib Desert reclaimed by conservation efforts to become the largest
private nature reserve in Southern Africa. Set beneath ancient
mountains Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge offers a highly sophisticated desert
experience. Only ten stone and glass desert villas are scattered along the edge
of the mountains overlooking the dune sea each offering absolute privacy. The
lodge is one of the most luxurious in the area.
Wildlife:
Oryx, springbok, ostrich,
hyena, aardwolf, bat-eared fox, Cape fox, Hartmann's mountain zebra can be
spotted in the area.
Facilities
and statistics:
20 beds are available in 10
villas. Stargazing safaris using a high-powered Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain LX200
12-inch telescope. CD players and mini bars in every villa. Guided 4 wheel drive
motorbike rides in the desert. Hot air balloon flight (optional extra). Scenic
flights, 4x4 trips to Sossusvlei.
