There is a special wilderness area in Namibia, where Erongo Wilderness Lodge is located, encircled by Erongo Mountains, where the desert, mountain, and bushveld ecosystems combine. Here, in a secluded valley, you will find a lodge with ten luxury tented chalets in a dramatic setting of granite boulders and breathtaking views. Hosts invite you to luxuriate in this richness of nature.

The lodge has 10 tented chalets, built on stilts, set against towering granite formations. Each chalet has its own niche amongst the rocks, ensuring peace, privacy and exclusivity. The luxury Meru tents are pitched under steep thatched roofs for shade, and have netting across all windows and doors, allowing only the breeze to enter. The en-suite bathrooms are built around the existing rocks and trees, naturally.

With it's own private deck, bush style minibar, and spectacular setting, each chalet is the best way to experience the lush Erongo environment. Atop a separate granite hill, the restaurant and lounge also offer spectacular views of the mountain landscape. Guests and animals are able to view each other while enjoying a drink the guests from the outside deck, and the animals from the floodlit waterhole below.
The Conservancy's mission includes the preservation of the rich cultural heritage in the form of rock paintings and engravings that are found throughout the area, such as at the Paula's Cave rock art site at Erongo Wilderness Lodge. From soaring raptors to the tiniest of sunbirds, the abundant bird life in the Erongo Wilderness area is one of it's most popular draw cards. The nests of two breeding pairs of Verreaux's Eagles can be seen on cliff faces, with sightings of this magnificent bird occurring nearly every day. Peregrine Falcon and Booted Eagle are also to be seen.
