The Kamelruhe Guest House is located in a small settlement Gochas in southern Namibia. Nearby attractions are farmers' centre Stampriet where fruits and vegetables are produced and Auob River. There are a several German - Nama war memorials in the area.

In the 1800 the German Schutztruppe had a outpost where Gochas is today. On the site where Kamelruhe is today, were a soldiers and officer barracks and stables for their camels to rest and be fed before they continued on their patrol of the Kalahari and Botswana desert (region).
The guest house is situated in Gochas on the Auob riverbanks, overlooking the dry riverbed.

Elevation: 1136 m.

This border sign was put up all along an imaginary border between the German protected Deutsch Südwest Afrika and the English protected Bechuanaland.
The guest house was build in 2003 on the site of the outpost and from there the name for the rest place of the camels: Kamelruhe.

Hosts have five double luxury rooms, all en suite and with air-conditioner. There is also a TV lounge to watch your favourite DSTV channel or just read a book. Hosts have a swimming pool, big lapa with braai facilities and a beautiful bar where they do most of our catering and meals. Hosts serve a full breakfast and also have a restaurant where lunches and dinners are served. Lunch packs are also available for travellers.
