The Sedia Riverside Hotel in Maun is born out of Botswana and run by people who

in English for Sedia, nor does the Sedia Riverside Hotel have any equivalent in
Botswana. It is a unique hotel, small with just 24 rooms and 8 chalets and a
delight for those in search of something with character. Extensive lawns and
gardens back onto Sedia Hotel, in which a large swimming pool is the principal
feature. Step inside the cool reception area and enter an oasis of relaxation
with a very welcoming cozy ambience. The perfect place to unwind and relax, all
discreetly hidden behind the Hotel.
Restaurant: The life style at Sedia Hotel can be al fresco, with
breakfast taken in the garden, while lunch and dinner may be enjoyed under
mulberry trees on the poolside deck or inside the restaurant. But where to eat
and drink is a matter of mood and appetite, coolly casual or a bit smarter
perhaps with light Euro - African cuisine, ideally suited to the climate. This
is is provided for you either by buffet or a la carte and taken in any areas of
the garden, pool deck or candle-lit air conditioned restaurant, embraced by the
moody African decor. The executive chefs and their team are always prepared to
tempt you to an array of gourmet delights par excellence.
Rooms: The guest rooms, all en suite, have been cheerfully decorated with an
individualistic African theme each with its own private veranda overlooking the
lawns. The rooms provide contemporary facilities and fittings including air
conditioning and satellite television.
Chalets: Furnished to a good standard of comfort with all modern
facilities including air conditioning and satellite television. The chalets
offer the guests the best of two worlds, the privacy of apartment style
accommodation with the use of all the amenities and services of the hotel.
When Sedia Riverside Hotel was originally built, no trees were
felled, which together with the accompanying undergrowth, encourages resident
frogs , monitor lizards , squirrels,
mongoose, genets and prolific birdlife to share the habitat offered in the
verdant grounds of the hotel. Hueglins robins, coucals, hornbills and our
resident red-billed francolin families
are a common sighting within the grounds. The Sedia Riverside Hotel, a five
minute drive from Maun Airport, has a very inviting and welcoming atmosphere,
offering guests a unique venue in which to unwind, relax and enjoy
personalized service in an environment exuding character.
At the Sedia Riverside Hotel, you will discover 24 rooms and 10 cottages. The
welcoming rooms and cottages have a warm décor with contemporary fittings
including air conditioning and ceiling fans, a variety of satellite channels
available on LCD televisions, fridge, hair driers, tea /coffee stations and a
private verandah overlooking the lawns and gardens which stretch to the banks
of the now flowing Thamalakane River. Hippo’s can sometimes be seen in the
river, crocodiles are also present so our good sized
swimming pool is definitely the preferred option for a relaxing swim.
Luxuriant pure cotton bed linen dresses the super king size beds to ensure a
very comfortable nights sleep. Complimentary wireless broadband connectivity
is available throughout the hotel and grounds.
This fast internet service also being available in our internet café.
The swimming pool area, surrounded by a raised teak deck and shaded by a
jacaranda tree, offers a quiet relaxing venue where refreshments and meals
prepared by our dedicated
executive chef and his team are always available, including afternoon teas
with various pastries to tempt you, creating a delightful idyll.
On several evenings during the week, or on request, the Sekgantshwane
traditional dance group entertain guests with traditional dances giving
explanations of the dance origins and meanings.
The spacious riverside camping area offers shady stands, served by a well
appointed ablution block. A rewarding and relaxing stroll can be taken through
the hotel grounds down to the river frontage along the banks of the
Thamalakane River, the stroll can be a delight for birdwatchers, with over 150
species having been spotted to date within the environs of Sedia Riverside
Hotel.
Relax over a quiet drink poolside or take a leisurely boat cruise for an hour
or so on the Thamalakane River, aboard the hotels 12 seat power boat or a
helicopter flight over Maun or the Okavango Delta, take off and landing at
