Thamalakane River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River, just 19 km from Maun and en route to the famous Moremi Game Reserve. The rambling lodge has an idyllic setting and is committed to service excellence.

Accommodation

10 x Standard Chalets - sleeping 2 adults on double or twin beds, 2 children can be accommodated on mattresses on the floor

10 individual luxury stone and thatch en suite chalets are nestled in the shade of the riverine trees, twin and doubles are available. The spacious chalet interiors have a feature stone wall with an en-suite bathroom consisting of a shower, hand-basin and toilet. Rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Rooms are well ventilated with a unique “skylight type” wall. Each chalet has a private patio with a river view.

Dining

The restaurant is a magnificent rambling thatch and wood structure with magnificent views of the Thamalakane River offering superb sunsets over the River. It offers a formal dining area where exceptional ala carte meals are served. With a less formal seating area to the side to enjoy a beer and contemplate the view. Full English breakfasts are included in the rates. Thamalakane Restaurant has a good wine list and a superb menu. It is fast being recognized as the best dining experience in Maun.

Bar

The expansive bar counter is deeply shaded and overlooks the restaurant.

Pool

The pool overlooks the river and has inviting hammocks hanging under a character gazebo with loungers positioned around the pool.

Conferencing in the Delta

A conference venue is available for both day and overnight conferences, seating up to 50 delegates, boardroom style.

Birding opportunities abound at the lodge and Thamalakane work with Birdlife Botswana, using trained guides to conduct walks around the lodge.
Mokoro Day Trip
Travelling time to the Poler station: 40 minutes
Guests are picked up at the lodge and transferred to Boro Poler station where they embark on a guided walk and a Mokoro adventure.

Moremi Day Trip
Travelling time to the Moremi: 1hour 30 minutes
Trips are undertaken in 4x4 game viewing vehicles.
Guests are picked up at the lodge and enjoy a full day in the Moremi Game Reserve.

Lake Ngami Bird Watching
Travelling time to Lake Ngami: 1 hour
