Windhoek, Namibia
Ludwigsdorf is is
an affluent suburb of
Windhoek and is situated on the slopes of the Eros Mountains, in
the far eastern part of the city - the capital of Namibia, southern Africa.
Ludwigsdorf borders on
Klein Windhoek suburb and is located near road to
Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport and further to Gobabis and
border with Botswana. A ridge in the south of Ludwigsdorf separates the
suburb from the Avis Dam, and the B6 national road from the
Luxury Hill suburb, another well-off and older residential area.
Ludwigsdorf is the most expensive residential area in Windhoek and is also
home to numerous embassies, diplomatic missions and residencies of
ambassadors and embassies staff.
The neighborhood was named after John Ludwig, whose tomb here is a National
Monument. Veronica Cemetery, almost unknown burial site of indigenous
inhabitants of Windhoek with old graves dating back to early 20 century, is
located in cul-de-sac of the street with the same name.

Ludwigsdorf is a home for several embassies and diplomatic missions, including Chinese, French and Italian embassies.
Together with Luxury Hill, Klein Windhoek and Olympia, Ludwigsdorf is the most affluent suburb of Namibia's capital.
