Torgos Safari Camp Gochas |
Torgos Safari Camp is a 45000 hectare (111150 acre) Kalahari
concession situated along the border of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier
Park (Kalahari Gemsbok National Park). The Auob River, which is dry for most
of the time, passes through this area.
Accommodation: you will find a fully
equipped, Luxurious tented camp with lapa and boma in the dry river bed among
the dunes and camel thorn trees. The camp consists of 4 luxury tents, each
with an en-suite bathroom sleeping 2 guests each. The tents are far enough apart to
provide total privacy. The Lapa provides a bar, dining and lounge facilities,
while the boma provides outdoor barbeque and enjoyment for star-lit evenings.
Wildlife at Torgos is abundant and includes Gemsbok (Oryx), Eland, Springbok, Red Hartebeest, Duiker, Steenbok, Black-Backed Jackal, Cape Fox, Bat-Eared Fox, info@namibweb.comacal, Brown Hyena, Aardwolf, Porcupine, Pangolin, African wild cat, Black-Footed Cat, Antbear and other smaller mammals. Lion, Cheetah and spotted Hyena also pass through occasionally. Animal noises can often be heard creating a true African atmosphere. Larger bird species include Wild Ostrich and Cori Bustard, four Vulture and numerous species of birds of prey can be observed. Although they permanently inhabit this hunting concession, crossing from the border park regularly occurs.

Camp:
All transport arrangements will be catered for from arrival to departure to
and from Windhoek international airport. Chartered Flights are also available
for those who prefer to be flown from Windhoek or Keetmanshoop to the main
concession. Please note that these costs are not included into the
packages. From Windhoek travel to Rehoboth on to Mariental. About 5km before
Mariental there is a left turn to Stampriet. At Stampriet follow the road to
Gochas on to the Mata Mata Gate where you will find the Torgos.
