Lodge is located centrally in the bustling Namibian holiday Mecca of
- or Swakop as the locals call it. This is the second biggest
city in Namibia, and is part of the thriving summer tourist route. It is
also on the doorstep of the famous Namib Desert.
Swakopmund provides the ideal holiday destination for the adventure seeker; numerous excursions including sand boarding, quad biking, parasailing, skydiving, desert safaris and fishing are all on offer.
For those who simply wish to relax, the beaches, restaurants, curio markets and coffee shops provide a welcome alternative. The Drifters Lodge is centrally located, well appointed, and ideally situated for exploring the area.
The Drifters Swakopmund Lodge offers 13 well-appointed twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms lead onto a garden courtyard, and there is safe parking for customers.
Bookings at Drifters Swakopmund Lodge are on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Breakfast is served in the dining room. If you want to explore, there are many wonderful restaurants in Swakopmund - particularly along the beachfront and the pier.
• Twin rooms en-suite
Swakopmund is a beach resort and an example of German colonial architecture,
which is wonderful to explore.
Beach People don't come to Swakopmund to hang out in the desert. Hang with the Namibians away on school holiday and go to the beach. You'll find cold water, but warm sands. The beach, just to the north of town, is ringed with museums and cafes. You can take marvellous helicopter rides around the Skeleton Coast (to the north) and around the Namib desert (the oldest desert in the world, with the tallest sand dune in the world). Try your hand at sandboarding - you can ski the dunes just like you're snowboarding. Quad biking is also a wonderful way to explore the desert and surrounds, and there are a number of operators who run quad biking operations - ask at reception about all the wonderful activities that are available in Swakopmund - we can help with your bookings.
Activities and transfers (optional) can be organized & booked.
