WELCOME!
Thank you for booking with us, to ensure a pleasant holiday, please pay special attention to the following important notes:
Effective 01 June 2003, subject to amendments
PERMITTED AREAS OF TRAVEL
* 2wd vehicles may only be driven on tar or sealed roads, unless in a recognised National Park.
* Only 4wd vehicles are permitted on all public roads and tracks.
* We reserve the right at our sole discretion, to restrict vehicle movement in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions or for any reasonable cause.
DUST IN NAMIBIA!
PLEASE NOTE that Namibia is predominantly an arid desert country and the majority of secondary routes are on dusty, gravel roads. It is impossible to make vehicles completely dustproof, and NO REFUNDS will be considered for dust ingress into vehicles!
MECHANICAL REPAIRS
MINOR PROBLEMS/REPAIRS:
* Although our vehicles are new models, minor problems may still be experienced.
MAJOR PROBLEMS/REPAIRS
* You will be provided with a contact telephone numbers for major mechanical repairs over R (N$)

* Any problems associated with the vehicle including equipment failure should be reported as soon as possible.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
* We reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in some circumstances.
* This shall not entitle the customer to any refund.
TYRES
* The renter is responsible for the replacing of flat or punctured tyres.
* Never drive with flat tyres.
* Check tyre pressures regularly.
* Tyres can blowout due to the extreme heat on roads.
* Tyre replacement costs will only be reimbursed if the manufacturer accepts a warranty claim on the faulty tyre.
* When replacing a tyre, please ensure that it is of the same brand, size and ply rating as that of the damaged tyre.
* Reconditioned tyres are not acceptable.
AIR CONDITIONER
* Whenever the vehicle is stationary or idling for prolonged periods, the air conditioner
must be switched off to prevent damage.
FRIDGE
* Please remember this is not a normal domestic fridge and in not conditions may not be as effective.
* For the fridge to operate effectively the vehicle should be level when parked.
ACCIDENTS
* Please note that not all Southern African / Namibian vehicles are insured and it is also NOT compulsory to be insured against 3rd party property.
* It is therefore at times impossible to recover money from these drivers, even through the South African / Namibian Legal System.
YOU MUST NOT ADMIT LIABILITY TO OTHER PARTIES OR MAKE ANY OFFER OF SETTLEMENT
Most accidents occur for the following reasons:
* Driving too fast
* Driving on the incorrect side of the road (keep left)
* Driving at night
* Accidents must be reported within 24 hours to our head office.
* The insurance excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and will be charged for immediately.
* Our damage costs are established by a quotation of repair from our panel beaters and is substantiated by a report from a duly accredited Loss Assessor.
* If the rental vehicle is involved in an accident and is not driveable, a replacement vehicle, if available, may be collected from the closest branch.
* If the hirer requires a replacement vehicle to be delivered, then these charges will be for the hirer's account.
* The hirer is responsible for the recovery of the damaged vehicle to the original rental depot.
* If the hirer is unable or unwilling to take a replacement vehicle, no refunds for early termination of the contract will apply.
* No refund of rental days lost will be considered during the period in which a replacement vehicle is being organised.
* Should the hirer continue with a replacement vehicle then a new rental contract and insurance conditions will apply.
PERSONAL INJURY
This is not covered by your vehicle insurance and we strongly recommend that you take out your own Travel Insurance.
PETS
No pets are permitted in our vehicles.
NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES
Our vehicles are only insured for Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and South Africa. They are NOT allowed into Mozambique, Angola or Malawi.
SAFETY
Our recreational vehicles are built on light truck chassis and do not have the road handling abilities of a car.
Please:
* Consider the conditions of the roads you drive on and the weather conditions
* Remember that it is much more difficult to control a vehicle on unsealed roads
* Keep within a speed limit not exceeding 100 km/h on sealed roads and 60 - 80 km/h on unsealed roads
* Note that we strongly recommend that you avoid night driving, as wandering animals often stray onto the roads
VALUABLES
* To avoid possible theft, valuables should not be left in the vehicle.
* In major cities, it is advisable to leave the vehicle in a caravan park and utilise public transport or tours to visit the inner city.
* The renter is responsible for Insurance for personal property
ONE-WAY RENTALS / CHANGE OF DROP-OFF
One-Way Rentals are available as follows:
* One-Way Rentals within a country R (N$) 2 000
* One-Way Rentals across an international border, where permitted: R (N$) 2 500
* If you wish to change the drop-off destination after the rental has commenced, you must first obtain authorisation from our head office
CREDIT CARD
* If a credit card is presented as payment, the Credit Card Holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer
* We may use the credit card details for payment of any amount due under the Rental Agreement even if a signed open credit card voucher has been returned
EXCHANGE RATES / CURRENCY VARIATIONS
* All credit card transactions are conducted in South African Rand / Namibian Dollars.
* Due to exchange fluctuations, the amount refunded on return of the vehicle may vary from that initially debited against the credit card or travellers cheques. We accept no liability for these variances and accepts no claims for payment of variances
BRANCH HOURS FOR PICK-UP / DROP-OFF
* Office hours, local time in each country
* Monday - Friday 08h00 - 16h30 ( 8 am - 4:30 pm)
* WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS BY ARRANGEMENT ONLY!! 300 N$ fee is applicable.
* Customers returning vehicles on a weekend or a public holiday must agree to a
specific drop-off time. Failure to keep to this allotted time will result in an
additional charge of 100 N$ per hour for every hour of the delay.
INSURANCE OPTIONS
All Maui / Britz vehicles are insured against damage. You are responsible for up to R (N$)
75 000 on all 4WD Vehicles and R (N$) 75 000 on all Motorhomes - the excess of the cost of damage to your vehicle.
The excess is applicable per accident and will be charged for immediately. The excess can be reduced if you purchase either of the following Insurance Protection Packages:
Four options are available:
OPTION 1:
EXCLUSIVE COVER
R (N$) 210/day for Motorhomes / R (N$) 275/day for 4WD vehicles
Accident excess: Nil
This insurance covers:
* All costs associated with towing and recovery of a vehicle
* Any overhead and under body damage
* Replacement and repair costs for windscreen, radio and tyres
* No matter what tyre of accident you have, whether you are at fault or not, your liability will be Nil
OPTION 2:
SUPER COVER
R (N$) 125/day for Motorhomes / R (N$) 175/day for 4WD vehicles
Accident excess: R (N$) 5 000
This insurance covers:
* All costs associated with towing and recovery of a vehicle
* Replacement and repair costs for windscreen and radio
* No matter what tyre of accident you have, whether you are at fault or not, your liability will be R (N$) 5000
OPTION 3:
STANDARD COVER
R (N$) 105/day for Motorhomes / R (N$) 135/day for 4WD vehicles
Accident excess: R (N$) 30 000
You are responsible for:
* All costs associated with towing and recovery of a vehicle
* Any overhead and under body damage
* Replacement and repair of windscreen, radio and tyres
* No matter what tyre of accident you have, whether you are at fault or not, your liability will be R (N$) 10 000 Motorhomes, R (N$) 15 000 4WD vehicles
OPTION 4:
NO COVER
You are responsible for:
* The first R (N$) 75 000 of each claim including single vehicle accidents
* All towing and recovery costs
* Replacement and repair to windscreen, radio and tyres
* Any overhead and under body damage
VEHICLE EXCESS
On collection of the vehicle, an excess is payable.
Your choice of one of the aforementioned Protection Package Options determines your excess.
* The excess is payable by cash, credit card or travellers cheques. The credit card will be processed and traveller's cheques banked. We accept Visa,
MasterCard, Amex and Diners.
* If the vehicle is returned on time and in good order, the excess will be refunded in full, save that we shall deduct from the excess any amounts due by you under the Rental Agreement. This will include, but is not limited to:
* The emptying of the toilet tank (if applicable) prior to the return of the vehicle.
* We reserve the right to charge after rental
- Any parking or traffic infringements
- Any damages that we have not been made aware of.
EXCLUSIONS
* Water Damage - (particularly salt water) causes significant consequential damage to vehicles. Only Exclusive Cover will cover you against this tyre of damage.
* Willful Damage - Any damage caused as a result of negligence by you. For example, sitting or standing on the bonnet or the roof of the vehicle, drunken or reckless driving. None of the insurance options cover this.
