Camp Kwando |
Camp Kwando is located on the banks of the Kwando River in Caprivi, northern Namibia and invites you to come and explore the hidden treasures of a real Africa. Capture the spirit of the African bush while sipping sundowners from the beautiful overhead deck and experience the thrill of the tiger fish and the hauntingly beautiful call of the African fish eagle.
Accommodation
Luxury chalets
Camp Kwando has 6 larger chalets on stilts available on higher ground, built
on high poles and made of wood and canvas, along with thatched roofs.
Conveniently placed in the middle of the trees, they allow for an incredible
view of the Botswana plains.
Each chalet has a large stylishly furnished bedroom, a large en-suite bathroom
and an expanding deck.
Island tents
Camp Kwando offers 13 thatched roof tents set on the bank of the river. Each
tent has two beds with each bed equipped with a mosquito net. The tents are
built on poles with private deck overlooking the river.
The thatched roofs ensure a good thermal regulation - not too hot in summer
and not too cold in the winter. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with
shower, a toilet and a basin with hot and cold water. Electricity is provided
by solar power.
Camping
Camping sites are situated between the main building and the island. The area
is grassed and magnificent trees provide shade during the hotter hours of the
day. Camping area offers about 10 camping spots and 4 private camp sites (with
power point) on a carefully maintained lawn.
The facilities include showers (hot and cold water), toilets and basins, as
well as laundry.
