Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge Kongola |
Nkasa Lupala Tented lodge is
built on
the
banks of one of the many channels of the Kwando-Linyanti river system in
nothern Namibia, near Kongola. This
unique Namibian wetland paradise in the eastern Caprivi Region, is commonly
known as Mamili and was recently renamed Nkasa Lupala National Park.
Nkasa Lupala and the Wuparo Conservancy are part of the successful and award
winning Namibian conservancy program.
Activities at Nkasa Lupala
Nkasa Lupala tented lodge offers activities such as Game Drive safari in the
Nkasa Lulapa NP (Mamili), Mudumu NP and Wuparo Conservancy.
Sighting is this drives include Elephants, Buffalo, Hippo, Lions, Leopard,
Impala, Kudu, Zebra, wildebeest, Roan and Sable.
Boat cruise are conducted in the channels of the Kwando-Linyanti delta, with
great opportunity to sight special water adapted antelopes such as
Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Sitatunga and Lechwe.

Road access
Two new steel bridges where built in 2010 on the road to the Park. This
ensures easy access also to the lodge. 4x4 vehicles is still required.
A safe parking is available in Sangwali village at the conservancy office
and pick up can be arranged from the lodge.
By Road
Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge is on the Mamili NP boundaries, 1km East from the
Shisintze ranger station and park entrance and 11km South from Sangwali
village.
The lodge is in around 75km from Kongola (B8 road) and 130 from Katima
Mulilo.
From Kongola and Katima Mulilo, follow the C49 road up to the junction to
the Sangwali village (direction Mamili NP).
The C49 road is a perfect and maintained gravel road from Kongola and mainly
tarred from Katima Mulilo.
From Sangwali take the road to the Mamili NP. (4x4 is advised or call the
lodge for pick-up, there is a safe parking for normal vehicles in Sangwali)
Two new steel bridges where build in 2010 on the road to the Park. However
the first bridge is still in wood but in perfect conditions.
Once arrived to the Shisintze ranger station on the road that is the Park
boundary cutline, drive East for 1km and you are arrived to the Lodge.
By Air
The nearest airport is Mpacha (Katima Mulilo) airport at 125km.
There are regular flight from Windhoek 3 times a week with Air Namibia.
Transfer can be organized from Victoria Falls, Kasane and Johannesburg
airports.
