Aabadi Mountain Camp Twyfelfontein |
Aabadi Mountain Camp Namibia is located in the unspoiled
Damaraland area, just about 20 kilometres away from Twyfelfontein and about 325 km from Etosha National Park.
Aabadi Mountain Camp is the perfect stopover between the Skeleton Coast and
Etosha, or on the road to Kaokoveld. The rest camp is regularly visited by the
famous desert elephant, which passes by for a drink or bath in our permanent
waterhole. From the sundowner terrace you have a great view over the dry
riverbed and you’ll notice the elephants from kilometres away. While enjoying a
cool drink, just sit back and relax in this beautiful area!
Accommodation at Aabadi
Mountain Camp
Aabadi Mountain Camp has 5 safari tents, and a campsite with a maximum of 12
people on the campsite. There is a small restaurant, a sundowner terrace with a
spectacular view and a small (souvenir) shop.
The safari tents are built against the mountains and overlook the riverbed or
the camp. Each tent has its own parking place and lies at quite a distance from
the neighbouring tents. The restaurant is within walking distance. Breakfast is
included, but you are also more than welcome for lunch and dinner, or just a
drink!
Aabadi Mountain campsite is spacious and lies at the riverbed. There are enough trees, so
there is always shadow and privacy. There is a bush shower with only ‘cold’
water (heated by the sun) and flush toilet. The restaurant is within walking
distance; here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Each
campsite has its own fire place/bbq, so it is also possible to prepare your own
meal. Be sure you take enough food with you, there is no supermarket in the
area!
Campsite at Aabadi Mountain Camp
Aabadi Mountain Camp has a nice, big campsite. For individual travellers there
are spacious sheltered spots with a fireplace/’braai’. The bathroom is simple
but clean, with flush toilet and a bush shower.
Smaller groups
Groups have their own space, away from the other guests. There is no electricity
at the camp sites!
Tented camp at Aabadi
Mountain Camp
When you are at Aabadi Mountain Camp you’ll find yourself surrounded by nature.
In the spacious safari tents you will have everything you need, but you will
still experience nature. The tents are man-sized, have two single beds, a closet
and a veranda with chairs and a table. All tents have a private open-air
bathroom. There is no electricity!
Restaurant / sundowner
terrace at Aabadi Mountain Camp
Aabadi Mountain Camp has a beautifully decorated restaurant, where we serve
African and European dishes. Here you can drink a nice cold beer, some good
South African wine or the best rooibos tea ever; or have breakfast, lunch or
dinner. Day visitors are also more than welcome.
Don’t miss our sundowner terrace:
through a natural path you can climb to the top of a small table mountain. From
here you have an amazing view over the valley and hopefully from here you’ll see
the famous desert elephants of Damaraland. Just come and enjoy your drinks and a
beautiful sunset!
