This Floating Lodge offers guests a unique opportunity to explore the mighty Zambezi River from Island View Lodge to the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers 120 km downstream. Experience the thrill of angling for trophy size Tiger fish or the numerous bream species which inhabit this water wonderland at localities such as False Mwandi, Mwandi, Greybanks, Golden Pond and Jo Jo's, names which are synonymous with trophy fish.
The vast Zambezi floodplains offer refuge to an incredible number of bird species as well as the river's oldest inhabitants, the crocodile and the Hippopotamus which can be viewed from the comfort of the upper deck lounge. African Skimmers, Rufous-bellied Herons, Coppery-tailed Coucals, Lesser Jacanas and a variety of Lapwings and Raptors including the ever present African Fish Eagle are but a few of the many bird species to be seen.

Experience the splendour and beauty of the mighty Zambezi River and the surrounding flood plains whilst relaxing in comfort on board this unique floating lodge. The "SHAMWARI" can accommodate a maximum of ten guests and is ideally suited for anglers, birding enthusiasts, family getaways, wedding functions, corporate outings, honeymoon couples or just a breakaway from life in the fast lane.
Sleeping facilities for guests include five twin-bedded upper deck bedrooms with air conditioning and large glass panelled sliding doors awarding spectacular river views.
The spacious and comfortable lounge leads onto an open air braai deck with Jacuzzi where guests can relax with a refreshing sundowner whilst enjoying a spectacular Zambezi sunset. DSTV is available for the sport fanatics or those guests wishing to keep in touch with events in the "other world".
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is prepared in and provided from the spacious and well equipped kitchen and served in the dining area. Braai facilities are provided on the braai deck.
Cellphone reception is good in most areas where the "SHAMWARI" operates and charging points are available on board.
Refreshments and alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, spirits, cold drinks, bottled water and fruit juices are not provided and guests can either provide their own or advise us of their requirements and we will pre-purchase accordingly. Ice and freezing facilities are available on board.
The "SHAMWARI" has three 5m tender boats powered by four stroke 40hp Yamaha outboard motors available for use by guests for angling, bird or game viewing and each tender boat is skippered by a competent and experienced river guide.
The "SHAMWARI" is propelled by two 100hp and two 60hp four stroke Yamaha outboard motors and tender boats are towed behind when not used by guests.
