Livingstone Safari Lodge
and camp site is located near the Victoria Falls and opposite the Mosi-oa-Tunya
Game Park in Zambia. Right amidst all the activities in the Victoria Falls and
Livingstone area. Large individual lodges under high thatch without any
apparatus which can make noise and disturb the peace and quiet. Beneficial
earth currents promote deep and restful sleep in our generous sized beds.
Spacious bathrooms with full length baths, a separate indoor shower, and a
second shower in a private outdoor setting off the bathroom – an altogether
rustic African and unique experience.
The Livingstone Safari Lodge is not five star impersonal "heads on pillows"
"guests are numbers". Rather personal and hosts take a keen interest why a guest would
or should throw themselves off a cliff face into a void 120 metres deep, tied
only with a string attached to some point of mother earth, or fly in a ancient
cloth covered biplane over these presumably antediluvian Falls, this is the
place to do it. More down to earth they can take in the sights and sounds of
the real Africa at the local market where people buy their meats, groceries
and have their beds made. This part of Africa is very peaceful, safe and laid
back to the point of lethargy. Crime is horrendous with one car theft in the
last seven years the perpetrators off which were caught within two hours,
locked up and the car retrieved, much to the owner's delight as he had not
bothered to lock it nor take the keys out!!
Meals available are three course dinners made with fresh ingredients and meats
from free range animals who grew up on non-acid rain grasses and foliage and
breakfast coffee/tea and toast with fresh unpolluted, non mechanical, non-stabilised,
free of all hormones & steroids real farm butter with some incredible organic
marmalade in addition to some organic chicken egg omelette with free range
non-steroid bacon, while breathing air unpolluted by any factory for hundreds
of miles.
