Xaro Lodge accommodates 16 guests in Meru tents along the banks of the Okavango River panhandle near Shakawe village. There is a dining room, bar and swimming pool on the premises. Hosts offer boat trips for birding and/ fishing. Other activities in the area are: Tsodilo Hills, Botswana's first heritage site. It has over 3500 bushmen paintings. The hills are approximately 1 hour from Xaro Lodge. There is also Mahangu Game Park, which is just across the border in Namibia. It is a small but well stocked park. Elephants, Wildebeest, Sable, Roan are some of the game to be seen in the park.
