Dam tours
These tours are
conducted on a daily
basis from Windhoek or can be included in a program of our
longer safaris.
The Oanob State Dam was built in 1990 and has a capacity of 35 000 000 cubic meters. The
cost of construction of the dam was 41 million Rand and at full capacity Oanob dam covers
more than 2.5 square kilometres.
The dam can be reached turning to the right from the main road B1 coming from Windhoek
just before Rehoboth.
The turn off is signposted.
The following activities are available for day or overnight visitors:
1. Water skiing
2. Boat trips
3. Fresh water fishing (equipment can be rented from the office).
On request overnight tours can be
arranged. There are camping sites available as well as fully equipped bungalows.
Tours to Oanob Dam can be combined with day tours to Rehoboth and Reho Spa Resort.
