Limpopo River Lodge Tuli Block |
The Lodge is situated on the banks of the Limpopo River in
the Tuli Block. A perfectly situated weekend getaway or overnight stop en
route to central or northern Botswana. Only 12 kilometers from the friendly
and little used Platjan border post. The land is undulated, scattered with koppies, covered with
thick Mopane bush and a variety of indigenous trees. There are over 80
beautiful Baobab trees on the farm. An ideal setting for the nature loving
family or a special group of friends to partake in natures quiet peace and
tranquility.
The lodge consists of two chalets and four rondavels. The swimming pool is
for the private use of the chalets only. The rondavels are all situated on the
riverbank and fully interact with the bird life and wildlife that frequents
the river. All the kitchens are fully equipped with cooking utensils, crockery
and cutlery as well as refrigeration. To ensure that your stay is pleasurable
hosts friendly staff service the units and kitchens, so all you need to do is to
bring along your food and drinks. The campsite is situated away from the lodge
on the banks of the Limpopo. There are thatched ablution facilities with hot
and cold water. Firewood supplied. No drinking water available.
Thatched Bush Camp also available comprising of two bedrooms each furnished
with two single beds with linen, blankets and towels. Sharing ablution
facilities in campsite. Fully equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery, cooking
utensils, gas stove, fridge and lamps. Boma braai area equipped with camp
chairs and braai. Firewood supplied. No drinking water available. A luxury
camping experience. There is extensive game on the farm including all the
antelope, elephant, leopard, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and a variety of other
species. The bird life is prolific and sightings of Pels Fishing Owl mean
plenty of excitement for birders. Although there are no resident lion prides
they regularly move on and off the farm.
Directions:
From
Johannesburg: Take the N1 to Polokwane. From Polokwane take the R27 via
Dendron , Vivo and Alldays . At the T junction in Alldays turn right and then
first road left to Swartwater. Just outside Alldays turn onto the first dirt
road right . Approximately 48 kilometers of dirt road, turn right to Platjan
Border Post. After border, turn left at T- junction and Limpopo River Lodge is
only 5 kilometers down the road.
From Gaborone: Route 1: From Gabs to Mahalapye . After Mahalapye turn right to
Machaneng. After Machaneng turn left to Sherwood and Martins Drift. At
T-junction turn right to Martins Drift and Sherwood. Before Sherwood turn left
onto dirt road to Zanzibar. Approximately 100 kilometers go through Baines
Drift Police Station and then 12 kilometers to Limpopo River Lodge. (112
kilometers dirt road)
Route 2: From Mahalapye go straight to Palapye. 20 Kilometers after Palapye
turn right to Tamasane / Kgagodi. Left to Sefophe before Sefophe right to
Zanzibar border post. At Zanzibar carry on straight on dirt road through
Baines Drift police station and the 12 kilometers to Limpopo River Lodge.

From Francistown: Turn left at Serule to Selebi Phikwe, then find directions
through Phikwe to Sefophe / Martins Drift.
Before Sefophe (+ 29 kms) take left turn to Bobonong. Find directions through
Bobonong and travel via Molalatau, pass turn off to Mathathane to dirt road
'T' junction. Turn right and travel 25 kilometers dirt road to Limpopo River
Lodge Reception.

Gaborone - 440 kms
Selibi-Phikwe - 165 kms
Palapye - 265 kms
Francistown - 320 kms
There is no petrol or supplies available at or near the lodge. Last filling
station Alldays, Sherwood or Bobonong depending on the route chosen.

Tlokweng 6 am - 10 pm
