A demand for alternative means of transport between Windhoek and Maun Botswana has been identified. This is apart from the international flights that are currently infrequent and scheduled by Air Namibia at a costly charge. Although this has been called for by various travel agents in Namibia, no scheduled road transport is currently in operation. SAFEWAY Transfers & Tours has now been established to seize the opportunity and to meet the demand created by the tourism market.
Objectives: Firstly, SAFEWAY Tours' objective is to establish a trusted and well known brand of road carrier services for tourists between Namibia and its neighbouring countries. The main route, between Windhoek (Namibia) and Maun (Botswana), will later be extended to include trips to the Gaborone and Francistown (Botswana) and the West Coast of Namibia, far northern parts of Namibia, and eventually South Africa, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
