Rooms: Accommodation at the Protea Hotel President comprises 349
well-appointed rooms and suites on the Bantry Bay beachfront. In accordance
with new smoking legislations, the hotel now offers three smoking and
non-smoking floors. GUESTS can choose to have either a sea-facing or
mountain-facing room, as well as whether to have twin or double beds. The
hotel also offers 3 disabled rooms and is also designed (by means of ramps
and elevators) to accommodate disabled GUESTS. All rooms and suites contain
tea and coffee making facilities, a remote control satellite television,
hairdryer, telephone, sleeper couch, individual air conditioning, electronic
room safe, ADSL plug-point and wireless internet, safety latches and
electronic locking devices on all doors. Kitchenettes are stocked with
appliances, crockery and cutlery, but do not contain hot plates or an oven.
Our recent refurbishment has seen all of our rooms and passageways
re-painted, to create a warm and welcoming feeling for our valued GUESTS.
You will also find brand new sleeper couches in all sea-facing rooms, as
well as new voile curtains and desk lamps. All chairs in the rooms have been
recovered and the rooms are looking totally refreshed. But, don't take our
word for it ... come and experience it for yourself.

Executive Suite: Two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, separate lounge and kitchenette

Hotels President is the ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Cape.
Only 5 minutes from the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and Two Oceans
Aquarium, 5 minutes from Clifton and Camps Bay Beach, 10 minutes from the
Table Mountain Cable Way, and 25 minutes to Canal Walk shopping centre and the
international airport. Teenagers and adults alike can walk along the Sea Point
Main Road adjacent to the hotel where they can find many department stores,
boutiques and restaurants. Directly in front of the hotel are small beaches as
well as popular surf spots. The Sea Point promenade popular amongst locals for
romantic strolls and jogging - starts in front of the hotel and continues to
the V&A Waterfront. On this walk, children can be entertained by a park, a
putt-putt course, the blue train picnic area and a maze. For the fitness
enthusiast, The Virgin Active gym is a 3 minute drive away and, for those
wanting to experience Cape Town's nightlife, there are many trendy bars and
clubs within a 10-minute driving radius.
Cultural attractions nearby include the parliament buildings, SA National Art
Gallery, Planetarium, National History Museum, The Gold Museum, craft markets,
The District Six museum and The Cape Castle. Robben Island can be seen clearly
from the hotel and boat rides to the island depart 5 minutes away at The V&A
Waterfront. For nature lovers, there are many hiking and walking trails up and
along Table Mountain and Lions Head and, 40 minutes away from the hotel, you
can find wine routes and farms where one can sample the Cape's world-class
wines, cheeses and South African farm-stall goods. Whatever it is you seek,
