Olifantsrus Camp |
The Olifantsrus Camp is located in the western, previously closed off area of Etosha National Park in northern Namibia, around 135 km from Okaukuejo Rest Camp and 65 km from Otjovasandu Galton Gate of the park. The distance from Dolomite Camp is roughly 50 km. Olifantsrus is the newest NWR's camp offering camping only bush environment in the middle of pristine original African bush savanna.

Accommodation at Olifantsrus
Olifantsrus Camp offers ten camping sites with power points. Each camp site can accommodate 8 persons maximum. A number of amenities is available: kiosk (drinks and light meals are on offer), information centre, communal kitchen and clean well maintained modern male/female ablutions blocks. Day visitors may also use Olifantsrus picnic sites.

The Olifantsrus Camp offers access to state of the art double story hide (a thatched hut structure) (reputedly first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Africa) with a fantastic view of manmade waterhole that has become particularly favourite one for elephants, true to the camp’s name ("Elephant’s Rest"). The hide is split level and has aluminium glasses around it in front of a waterhole installed for close-up incredible game viewing.
Opening times
Olifantsrus Camp operates from sunrise to sunset, same as Etosha Park as whole. Day visitors must vacate picnic facilities at 16h00.
Important
Speed limit in Etosha National Park is 60 km/h. No chalet accommodation is available at Olifantsrus.
