historical landmark going back to the 1830s when the first structure was built
as a wagon stop leading into the wild interior, Hotel Old Halliwell is
surrounded by 250 acres of rolling lawns and forest overlooking the Karkloof
Valley. Hotel Old Halliwell is conveniently situated just 4 km off the
N3 (Lions River off-ramp), 4.5 hours from Johannesburg, 1.5 hours from Durban
and 30 minutes from Pietermaritzburg and is suitable for outdoor teambuilding
activities from archery or clay-pigeon shooting, hot air ballooning to
navigational games.
Hotel Rooms: The old stables have been converted into 15 large and airy
bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. All rooms are individually decorated and
each has its own fireplace, telephone, TV and tea/coffee-making facilities.
Hotel Facilities:
Old Halliwell is the ideal place for hosting small
conferences, with a well-appointed conference room highly suited to Boards of
Directors and management groups.
Delegates find it ideal for both hard work and relaxation. Measuring 8m x
13m, the conference room comfortably seats:
Board Room Style - 30 Delegates
Cinema Style - 50 Delegates
U-Shape - 20 Delegates
Hotel Old Halliwell offers various wedding scenarios from small,
intimate weddings of less than 50 people to sumptuous banquets for 120 people.
We can accommodate up to 50 people comfortably in the hotel dining room. For
numbers between 50 and 100, the function room is used and for 100 to 120, it
is advisable to erect a marquee in the gardens.
