Marracuene Lodge Maputo Province |
Marracuene Lodge Mozambique is situated on
the Incomati River and when available hosts offer a complimentary boat trip to Macaneta
beach for our guests staying in casas.
We are the FIRST Lodge, only 35kms north of Maputo, on the road north to Xai
Xai, Inhambane, Vilanculos, etc. therefore being the most obvious overnight
stop for all tourists travelling North & returning South. Most people are bowled over when they
see how amazing the lodge is. Kindly note that THERE IS NO CAMPSITE IN MAPUTO TOWN -
The 2 bedroom chalets BUILT WITH BRICK & a very high cool thatch roof and
they are huge chalets. The bedrooms are very large & the sitting room has a
large dinning table with 6 chairs plus 2 large lounging chairs. These 2
large chalets have a kitchen as well, although not fully equipped, they do
each have a kettle, mugs [ tea & coffee supplied ] & small fridge. They
sleep 6 as standard & can sleep many more with ease because of its size.
Hosts also have 3 small one-bedroom chalets [again, built with brick & a very
high cool thatch roof ] that sleep 2 and can sleep 3 if necessary. The small
chalets do NOT have kitchens. The 3 small chalets also have a kettle, mugs [
tea & coffee supplied ].
All chalets have hot water by 'donkey boiler'. There is a fully functional
restaurant & fully stocked bar with a small shop for the convenience of our
local & camping guests. A medium sized sparkling clean swimming pool is
well used by our guest as they love it. The lodge is situated 4.5kms off the
main road and only 2kms of this road requires a 4x4. For the real 4x4
enthusiasts there is the Costa do Sol road from Maputo right to the lodge,
which is great fun for 4x4 vehicles, motorbikes & quad bikes alike.
Hosts pride themselves on 2 forests namely: DWARF FOREST & FAIRY / ANGEL
FOREST, which are unique and you have to see them to believe how unusual &
exceptional they are. Hosts cater for a large amount of fishermen due to the
low launch fee’s and easy launch site which is only 10kms from the river
mouth.
