At Lyngenfjord House hosts offer you the ambiance so typical of tranquil
village - serenity, peace and nature. Lyngenfjord House has a perfect
location, close to the beach and yet high enough for spectacular panoramic
views of the beach on the left to Seals on the right. Cape St Francis is
situated at the most southern Cape in the Eastern Cape. It boasts with the
Cape St Francis Light House, a National Monument, built in 1878 at Seal Point.
The village was only proclaimed in 1965. This is a very popular stop-over for
tourists between the Garden Route and Port Elizabeth Airport, Addo Elephant
Park and Shamwari. Lyngenfjord is also an ideal base for visits to the Tsitsikamma
Canopy Tours, bungee jumping at the Bloukrans Bridge, the Kouga Cultural
Centre, the Baviaans Kloof, Patensie and Hankey - the bread basket of Kouga
and a wide selection of game farms in the region.
Keeping with the tradition The Lyngenfjord House B&B is named after the
Lyngenfjord which sank in 1938. Join Michael and Elza van Lingen for a
relaxing holiday in a homely, family atmosphere. The 5 en-suite bedrooms are
spacious and comfortable and the panoramic views of the sea, Seal Point surf
and the beach break are breathtaking and exhilarating. The lounge balcony
upstairs is ideal for a relaxing read, watching the whales and dolphins,
checking the surf at Seals or a sundowner. The patio at the pool is great for
breakfast or a typical South African braai. There is one facing bedroom on the
ground floor that is reasonably wheelchair friendly. A paraplegic guests can
move around the lounge, dining room, bedroom and pool deck with ease. Parking
is also available on the same level.
A guests often watch the whales and dolphins splashing in the waves below
from their beds, the breakfast table or the pool side. All streets in Cape
St. Francis have been named after shipwrecks along this coastline. Cape St
