Farm has been in the Moodie family since 1817 and borders the wild and
wonderful Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve up against the Langeberg Mountains.
It is a nature lover's paradise and offers hiking, mountain biking, birding,
horse riding, and swimming in rivers and pools all in a peaceful and secure
environment. Your hosts John and Miranda look forward to welcoming you to
Honeywood Farm Guest Cottages.
Honeywood specialties: At Honeywood Farm, you are able to take part in
the following activities: art courses, beekeeping courses, mountain biking,
birding, horse riding, hiking and guided nature rambles. Weddings and special
events can also be hosted at Honeywood Farm. Cottages at Honeywood Farm: Honeywood offers a variety of different
types of accommodation. It has camping, a Bush Camp and isolated cottages in
the hills for those who want to break away from the hustle and bustle of city
life.
Woody's
and Hunter's Lodge: Woody's and the Hunter's Lodge are probably host two most
popular cottages. They are fully equipped so all you need to bring is your
food.

Woody's is a restored woodcutters' cottages dating back to a period when Swellendam and it surrounding area provided timber for buildings in Cape Town.
It's is an isolated gem, as a result the tracks to them are not suitable for very low vehicles - a 4x4 is ideal but normal saloon cars reach the cottages easily in dry conditions. If necessary establishment take groups across but most prefer the challenge of the farm track.
Jack's and Laila's:
Each have three bedrooms and are close to the horse training ring. Scattered around the main farm house are other cottages. Jack's has three bedrooms and is close to the horse training ring.
Jacks's has a deck around it overlooking another gorge. All Cottages have an outside sitting area in Summer and fireplaces inside for cold winter's nights. Wood is provided for these fires and for cooking on the coals if you wish to braai. These cottages are grades with a three star grading from the tourism grading council.
The Bush Camp & Camping:
The camp site is under two enormous oaks and The Bush Camp is built over a ruin, dating back to 1730. The Bush Camp is built over a ruin, dating back to 1730 and 9-12 are able to sleep around the ancient walls which divide the area in three convenient divisions.
The wooden walls slide open offering spacious views across the farm. The Bush Camp has all the essential comforts - gas hot water, stove and fridge. Although there are comfortable beds and mattresses establishment ask guests to bring their own pillows and duvets. The CAMP SITE is under two enormous oaks and has an electrical point, a small fridge, a shower and flush toilet. There is seldom more than one party at a time at the camp site, usually you will have it to yourselves.
Oakvale Cottage: Scattered around the main farm house are other cottages. Oakvale is the largest venue boasting five bedrooms and three bathrooms with a spectacular view down a gorge towards the mountains.

Coral, Quince and Clover: Coral and Quince are alongside each other - each with two bedrooms, living room and small kitchen. Clover is a quaint cottage next to Jack's which also has two bedrooms and one of the best views on the farm. Scattered around the main farm house are other cottages.
