Tucked away in the residential part of Graaff-Reinet, Heeren XVII is situated
away from the noises and bustle of the town but in comfortable walking
distance from most places of interest. These delightful cottages that were
built about 1850 and have not suffered the commercialisation of so many of the
other historical buildings. Most cottages are declared a National Monuments
and they have retained the grace and warmth that will take you back to an era
you want to experience over and over again.
A facilities are what you would expect from an accommodation of this
standard. The cottages are situated in a beautiful part of the town in a quiet
street away from the noise and bustle of the town centre. Comfortable beds
with crisp linen, a generous supply of soft towels and quality toiletries. The
first people who lived here learnt very quickly to build for the temperature
extremes, and because of the thick walls, high ceilings and small windows with
their shutters, our cottages are lovely and cool in summer and nice and warm
in winter, however, we do provide ceiling and standing fans to cool you down
in summer time and heaters to warm you up in winter. Each cottage has its own
private garden where it is perfect to sit, relax and unwind from the stress of
everyday life. Food and beverages is served at your own cottage for your ease,
and, weather permitting, in the garden.
The makings for tea and coffee are available for you in the cottages and well
as cool juice in summer, with lots of extra ice. Experience the freshness of
being able to walk in safety, and the novelty of being able to stroll back to
your cottage after supper or to visit most places of interest and unobtrusive
service from friendly staff.
