All Haina Mobile Safaris depart and return from Haina Safari Lodge in Central Kalahari, Botswana. You journey into the Central
Kalahari National park, the second largest national park in the world.
You will explore the area around Deception Valley which is an ancient fossil
river, game viewing is especially good as there are open plains and it is
common to see very large herds of antelope. Sightings of predators is common
as they lie in wait on the “river” banks, watching the antelope.
Travel: Roads are all dirt and you will be travelling in a 4x4 vehicle
with a back up vehicle in attendance. You will be accompanied by a driver,
tracker, chef and field ranger.
Camping: National park camp sites are used and on arrival your camp site
will be set up for you. You will sleep in domed tents on padded stretchers.
Top quality sleeping bags are provided. Safari chairs and table will be set
out for your convenience. There is no water in the Kalahari so our safari
group needs to bring in its own water. Ablutions are all environmentally
friendly units and are supplied by the National Park and portable bush showers
are used. There is no electricity and your lights at night will be provided by
candlelight and gas lanterns. All meals will be prepared on the camp fire by
your top class chef.
What to bring:
All camping equipment is provided, you need to bring only your clothing
and personal items,
establishment suggest that they include:
Walking shoes, Hat, binoculars, cameras
Clothing should preferably be comfortable and in colours that blend in with the bush and should include shorts and long trousers, a bush jacket for the evenings is recommended.

Day One: 13h30 Depart Maun Airport,
Moremi Air en route to Haina Safari Lodge, Central Kalahari.
14h00 Arrive Haina Safari Lodge. Met at the airstrip and transferred to Lodge,
welcome drink and orientation. Guests are transferred to their luxury safari
tents where they have the opportunity to freshen up before the afternoon game
drive.
16h00. Ranger collects guests from their tents and proceeds on evening game
drive. Sundowners are enjoyed en route, return to tents to freshen up before
dinner.
20h00: Guests are transferred from their tents to the lodge for dinner.
22h00: Guests are transferred to their tents where they overnight.
Day Two: 06h30 Transferred to Lodge for early morning coffee and rusks
before departing on early morning game drive. Bush breakfast enjoyed en route.
Return to lodge 11h30. At leisure until 13h30, light lunch served at the
lodge.
15h00: Ranger collects guest depart for Bushman Lifestyle Experience. Haina
Safari Lodge is located in close proximity to the ancient Mecca of the Bushmen
that inhabited the area about 6 000 years ago. Haina is home to a group of
Bushmen, who are free to continue their nomadic life or join the experienced
staff at Haina. They will share with you how they go about their daily lives,
how they search for roots and plants to live on, how to make a fire and do a
rain dance. Guests have the option of participating in a short bush walk with
the Bushmen.
Sundowners are enjoyed on return to Lodge.
Guests are given the opportunity to return to their tents before dinner.
Dinner is served from 20h00 onwards.
Day Three: Depart early morning (± 06h00 depending on season) we make
our way to the Central Kalahari National Park. The driving time is
approximately 2 hours to the park. We explore as we travel and meals are
served either en route or at the campsite depending on the game viewing
opportunities. On arrival at the Kgori campsite in the park, your campsite
will be set up for you and the evening meal is served at the campsite.
Day Four: Today we journey south from Deception Valley to Deception
Pans, we will visit the camp site of Mark and Delia Owens, the authors of the
book “Cry of the Kalahari”, we will learn more about their journeys in this
fascinating region of Africa.
Today is all about the African bush and the animals, we go where the animals
lead. Overnight at Kgori campsite.
Day Five: Early morning drive to the edge of Deception “Valley” to
simply soak up Africa before departing for Haina, arriving back at around
midday. Guests have time to themselves until 16h00 when they depart on their
evening game drive, dinner at the lodge at 20h00.
Day Six: Guests have the option of an early morning game drive or
sleeping in. Breakfast is served at the lodge at 08h00. 10h00 Depart Haina
Safari Lodge, Air Moremi, arrive Maun 10h30.

Day Four: 08H00. breakfast at the lodge. 11h00 transfer to airstrip for
onward flight to Shakawe, Moremi air.
13h00 Road transfer to Okavango River Boat.
Check in at Drotsky’s Camp, Shakawe. Once on board the Ngwesi Riverboat we
will up anchor and move out onto the river. We will drop anchor in the late
afternoon.
16h00 Sundowner trip on the “tender boats” to explore the surrounding area.
19h00 – 20h00 A three course dinner is enjoyed on the upper deck of the Ngwesi.
Overnight Riverboat
Day Five: 06h00 Early rise to enjoy the sunrise on the Delta from the
Riverboat.
08h00 Breakfast on the The Ngwesi Riverboat.
After breakfast you have the option of participating in a tender boat outing
to explore the surrounding areas, fishing and birding or lazing on deck
soaking up the sun.
13h00 A light lunch is served on board the Ngwesi.
15h00 A trip on the Tender boats is offered which could give you the
opportunity of trying your hand at fishing for tiger and breem. Or you may
choose to do a spot of birding, with over 400 species of birds this area is
one of the top bird watching spots in the world.
18h00 Sundowners enjoyed on the deck of the Ngwesi Riverboat.
19h00-20h00 Dinner is served.
Day Six: 08h00 The Ngwesi Riverboat pulls up anchors and meanders back
to it’s mooring at Drotsky’s Camp, breakfast is served en route. Arriving back
at Drotsky’s at aprox 09h30-10h00.
