Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge is situated in the province of Mpumalanga, where
the Highveld and Lowveld meet with their dramatically different climates,
flora and fauna. The lodge has been awarded a Five Star grading from the
Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. The backdrop to Dawsons Game and
Trout Lodge is made up of wide-open grasslands and mountainous bushveld
teeming with herds of antelope. Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge offers exclusive
accommodation in 8 luxurious rooms that have been individually decorated to
create a rich colonial African ambiance without compromising on luxury. Each
room has full en-suite bathrooms with an elegant bath, spacious shower and
heated towel rails. For those cold winter nights guest can relax in front of
their private fireplace. Standing alone in this area, at the head of the
Nelshoogte Pass, which winds down to Barberton amongst the oldest rock in the
world and site of one of the earliest Gold Rushes, Dawsons Game and Trout
Lodge offers you privacy and secluded luxury.
Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge offers exclusive accommodation in 8 beautifully
appointed rooms that have been individually decorated to create a rich

in front of their own personal in-room fireplaces. All the rooms at Dawsons
Game and Trout Lodge have en-suite bathroom, with separate shower, bath and
toilet, walk-in closet, fireplace, mini-bar, coffee station and complimentary
sherry and nuts. Children and day visitors are most welcome at Dawsons Game
and Trout Lodge.
Homestead: Luxury Farmhouse sleeps 14 guests, Self-catering and
Catering can be arranged on request.

and small exclusive functions. Small conferences are ideal (maximum 16
delegates) and equipment is hired according to the client's needs. Team
building can be arranged upon request. For the avid golfer the Royal Swazi Sun
is a mere hour's drive away but guests should remember to bring their
passports. Guests at Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge can indulge in the
innovative talent of the resident chef. Enjoy breakfast and lunch in the
privacy of you own room, on the patio or in the dining room. The chef can
prepare a picnic basket for a romantic lunch on a self-drive picnic.

room or in the traditional African style boma.

bird species such as Knysna Lourie, Malachite Hum bird, Olive Bush-Shrike,
Trumpeter Hornbill and many more occasional visitors and seasonal migrants.

Hikes and Walks: Guests at Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge can revitalize
their spirits with a short guided or free walking day. Walk along 100-year-old
water canals to a spectacular waterfall overlooking the valley.
Horse Riding: Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge offers exciting horse riding
for the more adventurous guests. This is an excellent way of getting close to
the wildlife.
Game viewing: Dawsons Game and Trout Lodge offers early morning and
late afternoon guided game drives across wide-open grasslands and through
dense bushveld. Experience the unique behavioural patterns of the numerous game
species whilst enjoying your favourite sundowner.
Sightseeing: Day drives can be taken to nearby Barberton, Pilgrims Rest
(Discovery of Gold – Gold Rush), Grasskop, Sabie and Swaziland, as well as the
Kruger National Park.
Conference Facilities: Two conference venues. With a max capacity of 16
delegates, when you book out the entire establishment.
